Competitions are open to all paid-up members of the Society.
All competitions are digital images only.
All images must have been taken within the last five years.
Images previously included in club competitions must not be re-entered. NB: with a special exception for “Best of the Season”.
Images must be…
no larger than 1600px wide or 1200px tall.
a JPEG-format file with .jpg as the filename extension.
in the sRGB colour space.
Images not meeting these criteria will be automatically processed.
Deadline for entries is 2 weeks before the competition date.

In each email clearly specify your name and the competition being entered.
Unless specifically stated otherwise (eg. Chairman's Challenge)… For each entry submit up to 3 images giving a title for each image. Indicate your 3rd choice which may be excluded for quantity reasons.
Images entered may be used (with credit to the photographer) on the club website, our social media and, possibly, YPU (or similar) sites.
Members are welcome to submit watermarked versions of images alongside their entries in which case these alternate images will be used. Please clearly distinguish the entered images from the watermarked ones.If you are unable to submit entries by email, or if you have any other questions, please contact the Competition Secretary in good time.
We encourage all members to enter the competitions no matter what their experience. New members my find the idea of competitions a bit intimidating, but they are an excellent way to improve your photography and image making. Constructive feedback from judges can be very useful. It can be a great buzz to see your work on display and being talked about on competition nights.
